Overview

Flyover is looking for an Retail Operations Manager to join our team.  The focus of this role is to oversee the location’s day-to-day operations, ensure efficiency, optimize processes, manage resources, and lead teams to achieve our organizational goals.  This key management role is responsible for ensuring a seamless and memorable guest experience, guiding and supporting frontline teams, upholding the highest safety standards, and driving operational excellence at a premier entertainment destination.

What is the compensation for this role?

The salary range for this role is $70,000-80,000USD annually and a full breakdown of perks and benefits will be discussed in the interview process. 

What will you do in this job?

  • Oversee all aspects of retail and souvenir operations—including merchandising, inventory, staffing, and visual presentation—to maximize sales and enhance the guest experience.
  • Lead, coach, and develop the retail and frontline teams to ensure high performance, accountability, and alignment with Flyover’s service standards.
  • Manage day-to-day attraction operations, ensuring efficiency, safety, and consistency across all guest touchpoints.
  • Oversee the Box Office by supporting the rollout of sales and marketing initiatives, promotional campaigns, and system updates to ensure accuracy and smooth day-to-day operations. Take ownership of the POS system (Anchor), ensuring it runs efficiently and acting as the key point of contact for any related needs.
  • Champion service excellence by refining operational workflows, responding to guest feedback, and proactively identifying opportunities to exceed expectations.
  • Optimize scheduling and floor management to balance labor efficiency with top-tier service during peak and off-peak periods.
  • Partner with marketing, IT, and technical teams to ensure a cohesive and revenue-driving attraction experience.
  • Leverage operational and retail data to evaluate KPIs, improve throughput, and elevate both guest satisfaction and commercial results.
  • Support recruitment, onboarding, and retention of team members, building a culture focused on service, sales, and growth.
  • Other duties and projects as assigned

What skills and experience do you need for this job?

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, operations management or related field, preferred
  • CPR/First Aid Certification or willingness to obtain

Ideal Experience:

  • A minimum of 3–5 years of experience in operations management, preferably in themed entertainment, attractions, hospitality, or tourism
  • Proven ability to manage high-volume guest flow in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
  • Understanding of general finance and budgeting, including profit and loss, balance sheet, and cash-flow management
  • Working knowledge of safety regulations, operational procedures, and guest experience strategies

  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods
  • Must be able to move throughout the attraction, including climbing stairs, navigating backstage areas, and accessing elevated or confined spaces
  • Occasional lifting, pushing, or pulling of items up to 40 lbs (e.g., equipment, supplies, promotional materials)
  • Comfortable working in varying conditions including low lighting, loud environments, and around motion-based simulation equipment
  • Manual dexterity to operate equipment, use handheld devices, and complete light administrative tasks

Must be able to respond quickly and safely to emergency situations, including directing guests and assisting with evacuations if needed
